September Favorites!

September means back to school. Back to school means early mornings and lack of sleep. This month my favorites are all about looking alive and awake.

You obviously want your eyes to look bright and awake even though you're tired. Right? I've been loving the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in the shade Radiant to brighten my under eye area. It covers dark circles. Mine aren't bad but this gets the job done. It also doubles as a highlighter so it saves time in the morning. Then, to make my eyes look even more awake I apply the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal eyeliner in nude on my water line. I love it because once it's there it's not moving. It lasts all day and doesn't smudge.

NARS orgasm blush / my attempt at a swatch
For blush I've been using my all time favorite blush NARS orgasm. It's a peachy pink with gold shimmer. It adds a healthy glow to my cheeks and also helps with the whole looking awake thing. I use it to much and I'm surprised that I haven't hit pan on it.

bottom:  a very built up swatch of the covergirl lip smoochies in #luv u
For lips I've been loving lip balms that double as MLBB shades. The covergirl lip smoochies in #luv u is a perfect MLBB shade for me. It's not the most moisturizing but it has good color pay off. I can just throw it in my bag and not worry about it. I can reapply it all day without looking in a mirror. I've also been obsessed with the Dior Addict Lip Glow. It's quite pricey and I could kick myself for loving it so much. (**cough cough MeghanRosette made me buy it cough cough**) It's meant to enhance your natural lip color while being moisturizing on your lips. It turns into a really pretty MLBB pink shade on my lips and I love it so much! It smells and tastes like mint. It's actually quite moisturizing. Again I can put it on without a mirror and carry it with me all day. When I get home from school I like to take my makeup off as fast as possible. I've been loving the MAC cleanse off oil to take off all my make up. It's really easy to use and gets rid of everything including my waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

Is it Worth the Hype? MAC Cleanse Off Oil

The MAC cleanse off oil gets a lot of hype in the beauty community. According to MAC their cleanse off oil is an oil based make up remover that's gentle on the skin. It's formulated with olive oil, evening primrose oil, jojoba seed oil, and vitamin E. It contains no mineral oil. It claims to be sing softening and conditioning, and good for all skin types

How it works (very simple): you massage it into dry skin and rinse it off with water.  Once water touches the skin it emulsifies into a lotion-like liquid. It's supposed to remove all your make up including waterproof mascara.

I think that this product is worth the hype because it removed all my make up including my waterproof mascara. It feels gentle on the skin and it doesn't break me out. I have sensitive eyes and it didn't irritate them. I will say that rinsing it off can get messy because water goes everywhere but it serves its purpose well.

Would I repurchase it? It seems to be lasting a long time. I've been using it for the past month and I used about a quarter it so I predict that it will last me about 4 months. As of right now I say that I would repurchase it but only time will tell. I LOVE my Bioderma but I go through a bottle of that very fast; so using the MAC cleanse off oil reduces the amount of Bioderma that I use up in a month. I can't compare the two because Bioderma removes my make up and is very refreshing on my face. The MAC cleanse off oil just removes my make up.

It retails for $36 CAN/$30 US for 150 ml.

NOTD: Nails Inc. Jermyn Street

Lately I've been loving nails inc. nail polish. I was drawn to Jermyn Street because I have nothing like it. Sephora describes it as a muted pink brown. The nails inc. site describes it as a taupe shade and the original greige colour. I think it's a perfect fall shade.

2 coats / with flash
I love the formula of this polish. It's creamy and opaque. 2 coats is perfect. I wore it 3 days with minimal chipping. I'm actually surprised at how little it chipped because nail polish usually chips fast on me.

I predict that I will be wearing this polish a lot this fall. I definitely recommend it.

Sincerely, JoJo ♥

NOTD: Nails Inc. Porchester Square

Porchester Square by nails inc. is a nail polish that I've heard a lot about. Some of my favorite British youtubers/bloggers are obsessed with it. I knew I had to try it.

2 coats with flash
It's described as a dove gray. It's a unique color and unlike and nude polish I have in my collection. It's really nice when you want to wear a nude polish but you want something different. I really like this polish.

The formula is really good. I needed two coats for maximum opacity. I noticed some chipping on the second day that I wore this but nail polish is bound to chip.

Nails Inc. polish retail around $11.50 at Sephora and Shopper's Drug Mart. I actually got this one in a set off sephora.com

When I don't know what color to paint my nails I will be reaching for this polish.

Josie Maran Coconut Water Cheek Gelée in Poppy Paradise Review

I love Josie Maran Argan oil but I've never tried any of the brand's makeup. When I saw the cheek gelĂ©es I was intrigued.

This is a coconut water infused blush. It also contains argan oil. It claims to provide the natural look of a cream blush and the long- lasting hydrating color of a gel stain. It also claims to provide 14 hours of hydration and color. It contains not sulfates, parabens and phthalates. Since I have dry skin this sounded like a good product for me to try.

Poppy Paradise is described as a warm toned hot pink. It looks red but it gives a pretty natural flush to your cheeks. A little goes a long way with this stuff. You really need to blend it out. I prefer applying it with my fingers. I think it applies more precisely and blends easier that way for me. I've tried applying it with a stippling brush but too much product ended up on my cheeks.

Does it last 14 hours? I would say it lasts a good 6-7 hours before it starts fading. I apply it in the morning and when I get home you can still see that it left a natural looking stain. At the end of the day it's still there but it looks a little patchy.

This is nice for those days when you're not wearing much make up but you want to look polished. This will brighten your cheeks and make your look awake. I actually really like this but I'm a powder blush girl at heart.

Sincerely, JoJo ♥

It depends what I feel like having that day. In the fall my favorite drink is the pumpkin spice latte. I really like their mocha and iced mocha. The green tea frappuccino is really good as well.
