April Favorites!

For the month of April I've been using the same products I loved last month but I added a few more Spring colored products to my every day make up routine.
For foundation I've been loving the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. I got the shade 130 Shell. It's yellow toned and the reason why I got it is because I have quite a bit of redness and yellow toned products are supposed to take away the redness. This foundation gives me medium coverage. I use my beauty blender to apply it and it's just perfect. It feels so light on the skin and it feels like I'm not wearing any make up.
I've also been loving the Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder in 020 light. I love this powder because it's finely milled and it feels creamy. Adding the powder after the foundation just makes it completely full coverage for me.
My go-to blush has been NARS Orgasm blush. It's my holy grail blush because it gives me a nice glow and it's perfect for any season.
I've been obsessed with coral nails. My favorites have been Essie Olé Caliente and Cute as a Button

For lips I've been using the Maybelline Vivids lipstick in Shocking Coral. It's a bright coral with pink undertones. When I want a move natural looking lip I've been reaching for L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse in #171 Pink Cashmere. It's the perfect pink. I've actually mixed these two shades together and it looks nice and springy.

Milani Liquid Eye eyeliner 04 Aqua, Maybelline Shocking Coral, L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse #171 Pink Cashmere

If I want my eyes to have a pop of color I've been reaching for the Milani Liquid Eye eyeliner in 04 Aqua. It's the perfect teal/aqua color. It doesn't smudge and stays in place all day.

NOTD: Essie Cute as a Button

I obviously have an obsession with nail polish and essie. I've been wanting cute as a button for quite some time but it was always sold out. When I finally saw it I grabbed it. I would describe this color as the perfect coral. It's more of a pinky coral which I like because it doesn't look orangy. Essie describes it as a juicy persimmon delight. It's just cute, fun and fresh for Spring/Summer.

The formula of this polish is thick and creamy. Two coats make it perfectly opaque. Applying it is almost effortless. I will be wearing this a lot in the upcoming summer months.

Sincerely, JoJo.

NOTD: Essie Olé Caliente

Essie's olĂ© caliente is one of my all time favourite nail polishes. It was part of their Spring collection last year. It's basically a bright orange/red/coral colour. I love it so much.

3 coats + seche vite = extra glossy nails ;)

I love this formula because it's thick. Two to three coats is enough for maximum opacity. I'm kind of sad that it was limited edition but you can still find it on amazon. If you can find it I highly recommend it. I've noticed that Come Here from this year's resort collection looks similar but more neon. I would suggest getting that one if you can't get this one.

Sincerely, JoJo.

Get to Know Me, The Beauty Blogger Tag.

I saw this tag going around and I thought I would do it because I just love doing tags.

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally very thick and curly.

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I've never dyed my hair.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
My hair alternates from being up in a bun and down with a bobby pin to keep my bangs in place whether it's curly or straight. I also love fishtail braids but I don't wear them often.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own manis and pedis. I just love pampering myself.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
I typically take off my nail polish after 4 days because it just bothers me when it starts to chip.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
I love it when my toes are colorful so they're painted all year long. I'll usually keep the repainting my toes with the same color for all or most of the winter and in summer I like to switch it up. OPI Miami Beet has been living on my toes all winter. I just kept reapplying it.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
Around 8-20 minutes. 8 on a normal everyday basis when I don't wear much make up. I just like to take my time to even blend out my foundation and concealer. 15-20 minutes if I'm wearing different eyeshadows and eyeliner because I take my time with blending and making sure I don't get my eyeliner everywhere as I apply it.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Foundation first, then concealer, then eyeshadow/eyeliner if I'm wearing any, bronzer, powder (if I need it), blush, mascara, lipstick/gloss.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I am a collector. I mean I have my essentials but I defintely buy things even if I don't need them.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
Not everyday but at least 4 days a week.

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
If I'm home no but if I go to a family member's house yes.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
No. If I'm going out I at least have concealer, mascara and some kind of lip balm, lipstick or gloss.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
I've never counted but I have quite a few. I have way more drugstore products than high end products though.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
Sometimes. When I know I have to get up early or if I'm going somewhere I'll usually pick my outfit the night before.

16. How often do you change your handbag?
When I have school my school bag is also my purse but when I don't have school I mostly alternate between my Coach crossbody bag and my Steve Madden crossbody bag.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
When I have school my wake up time varies between what time my class starts that day so I would get up between 6:30-8:30. Other days I wake up between 9-12. It depends on what I'm doing that day. I usually go to bed around 1. I try to get to bed early but it never works. I have trouble falling asleep.

18. How often or when do you workout?
I try to go to the gym at least twice a week but it doesn't always work. Sometimes I end up not going at all.

19. Left handed or right handed?
Right.

20. How tall are you?
5'2".

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I speak English, French and Italian. I speak a little Spanish as well because I took a semester of Spanish.

22. How many pets do you have?
Sadly none, but I've wanted a dog since I was 4.

23. How often are you on Blogger?
Lately I've been trying to post a few times a week. I check it daily to read other blogs.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Sometimes to see what people have to say about certain products and I end up following new blogs.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Yes. I keep a notepad file on my laptop with all the products on my wishlist.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
It's the same as my tumblr url. I thought it was cute.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use my fujifilm Finepix Z or my phone.

28. How often do you clean your house?
About once a week.

29. What's your favorite color?
Purple, blue, and emerald green.

30. Do you swear?
I really don't swear.

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Since it's past 10pm my day is basically over. I'm going to watch some youtube videos, read and then go to bed.

NOTD: Nicole by OPI Selena

I've seen the Selena Gomez collection for Nicole by OPI for quite some time at the drugstore. I liked most of the colors but it too me a while to actually buy one because I didn't know which one to get. A few youtubers that I love have bought the Selena shade. I've been looking for it everywhere for the past few weeks and it was always sold out. I finally found it the other day at a drugstore next to a Walmart and they had every color. Walmart was sold out. I just love this color because I don't have anything like this.

Selena is a bright peachy pink color with a very, very subtle hint of shimmer. It just reminds me of Spring and Summer and makes me happy. It's currently snowing outside and looking at my nails is cheering me up today. You need about three coats for maximum opacity. I just love this color!

Sincerely, JoJo. xoxo

March Favorites!

This past month I've been loving more natural looking make up. I've been obsessed with the beauty blender to apply my make up because it makes my foundation look flawless and natural. I've also been loving the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in light. It does a good job at hiding my under eye circles and brightens up my under eye area. The Cover Girl Clump Crusher waterproof mascara has been my go-to mascara because it separates all my lashes without clumping and gives me great length. I prefer to use waterproof mascara to make sure that it doesn't smudge and stays in place because I have oily eyelids. I've been using Josie Marran Argan oil one everything, my hair, my face, my cuticles, my hands. It's my must have skincare product. I love it! I've been loving First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream as my hand cream. It works very well on my dry skin.

My Nivea lip butter in Vanilla & Macadamia has been my best friend. It leaves my lips soft and moisturized. I've also been loving the Korres lip butter in Pomegranate as a wash of color on my lips on days where I don't want to wear much make up. I've also been using it as a cheek stain for a natural glow. My go-to every day lipstick has been the L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse lip stick in #174 Rose Taffeta. It's one of those my lips but better colors. It's a dusty rose color and it look amazing on my lips. I love this line of lipsticks because they're moisturizing and very pigmented. They also look natural on the lips. Even the bold colors look good. You can wear them sheer or build them up.

NOTD: Rimmel Sweet Lavender

Rimmel London recently launched their 60 second nail polish line in Canada. I've read a few reviews on the product so I decided to try it. It claims that you only need one coat and the polish dries in less than 60 seconds.

in natural light outside
Sweet Lavender is a true lavender. It's a lavender with pink undertones. I love the color because it screams Spring to me. I wore it for Easter.

In regards to the claims this polish requires way more than one coat for maximum opacity. After one coat the polish was streaky and sheer. It looked better after two coats but three coats is ideal. This polish seems to dry in 60 seconds. I used Seche Vite as my top coat to make my nails look glossy. I kept the polish on for four days. Most of the nails looked perfect during those days. Two nails chipped after two days and one chipped on the third day and one chipped on the fourth day.

Based on trying this polish I'd say the line is good. It's not the most long wearing polish and required three coats of polish but it's affordable and the colors look exactly like more expensive brands. The bottles are mini so they would be good for travelling.

I've seen the price of these range from $2.88 to $5.49. It just depends where you buy it.

Sincerely, JoJo xoxo
