June Favorites!

This month I don't have many beauty favorites but I have a lot of random favorites. First off I've been loving the Aveeno ultra-calming gentle make-up removing wipes. It's specifically made for dry, sensitive skin. It's very gentle and soothing on my face. It doesn't irritate my eyes. It gets off all my make up. I use this before using Bioderma. Next for skincare I've really been liking the La Roche Posay Effaclar K. It got rid of my breakouts and my skin has less redness. I don't like the scent but the product works wonders on my skin. For lips I've been loving Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Matte lipstick in shade 101. It's a cool toned pink and works with any outfit. It's not drying on the lips and lasts for a decent amount of time. For blush I've been loving the Essense Silky Touch blush in Adorable. It's a pale true pink with a satin finish. It feels silky when you touch it and it lasts for most of the day. It's only $2.99. It adds a nice glow to my cheeks.

La Roche Posay Effaclar K Review

In the past few months I've been breaking out more than usual and my regular products just didn't cut it. I was torn between trying La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and Effaclar K. I chose Effaclar K because the description seemed to suit my needs better.

La Roche Posay Effaclar K daily renewal fluid for oily skin Anti-Relapse  is formulated for combination to oily skin, irregular skin texture and blocked pores. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin. Since I have acne prone skin and large pores I thought this product would be ok for me. The fact that this product contains salicylic acid and that it's paraben free also convinced me to try it. Because I have dry skin I apply a light moisturizer (Bioderma Atoderm PP) before applying this product or it will dry out my skin. I use it at night as part of my nighttime skincare routine.

Effaclar K claims to make the texture of your skin smooth, tighten and unclog pores, diminish imperfections, clear your skin and make your complexion more radiant.

This products has helped clear my breakouts, my pores appear smaller, my face feels slightly smoother, my complexion seems less red. I've also heard that it helps get rid of acne scars. So far I think that it has diminished some of my acne scars.

The one thing I don't like about this is the scent. I have a plastic chemical scent and that's just not good. Keep that in mind if you're sensitive to scents. The first time I used it I was convinced that I didn't like it because of the scent but then I saw that it helped with my breakouts so I kept using it. I will overlook the scent because this has been working for me.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss 101 Review + Swatch

Rimmel's Lasting Finish Matte lipstick by Kate Moss in the shade 101 is a wearable cool toned pink. It's a matte lipstick but when applied to your lips it has a satin finish.

Since this is a matte lipstick I recommend applying lip balm before applying the lipstick. This lipstick applies easily. I love the pigmentation and it's a very build-able shade. It doesn't dry out my lips. It lasts a long time.

I love the packaging. It's the typical Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate packaging but the fact that it's red instead of black just makes it special to me. I just love colorful packaging.

Overall this is a very wearable shade of pink. It applies well, isn't drying and lasts all day. I think it would suit most skin tones. It works for any season and with any outfit.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Shocking Coral Review + Swatch

The Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in Shocking Coral is a very bright pink/red based coral. It goes on as a hot pink mixed with coral. The minute I saw it I just had to have it. I don't usually wear bright lipstick but this one is surprisingly wearable.

The color is very pigmented and applies easily. Once applied it has a glossy finish. I find that the color rubs off easily if you happen to touch your lips and it will stain your glass when you drink something. After your eat the lipstick doesn't appear as glossy but it's still there. After the glossiness wears off it leaves your lips with a nice stain of the color.

I love that the Vivids collection has a bright orange cap. It just makes it look more special and it makes me want to wear this lipstick more.

Overall I would say that this is a nice color to wear whenever you want to add a pop of color to your make up. The color reminds me of Spring and Summer. I don't like that the color rubs off easily but I like that it leaves a stain on your lips because it makes it last longer. I don't think it's the most long lasting lipstick that I own but it lasts for a decent amount of time. When I first apply it, it feels moisturizing but throughout the day I find that it makes my lips feel a little dry.

NOTD: Essie Aruba Blue

Since the Fifa Confederations Cup is currently happening I decided to paint my nails a color that would represent the Azzurri (Italy's National Soccer team). Soccer is the only sport that I understand and have played (besides swimming which I also love). Essie's Aruba Blue is a frosty/metallic royal blue. It's a beautiful color for any season. In my opinion it would be a really pretty color to wear for New Years. It also works for summer because of its shine.

 three coats // with flash
When applying this polish you need 2-3 coats for maximum opacity. The formula is pretty easy to work with. It may start off being a little sheer but the color builds up fast. The color lasts about 4 days with minimal chipping.

If you love this shade but don't want to spend the money on the essie one, Sally Hansen's Blue It is an exact dupe.
