Is it Worth the Hype? The Beauty Blender

The beauty blender is one of the most hyped up products in the beauty industry. Beauty bloggers, make up artists and youtubers constantly raves about it. It's something that people never stop talking about. I always wondered if it was actually true. When a product gets a ridiculous amount of praise I always wonder if it's too good to be true. It's also pretty pricey so if you're going to spend over $20 on a sponge it better be worth it.

damp beauty blender (looks like an Easter egg lol)

After months of debating whether or not I should buy one I finally caved. I'm so glad I did. From the first time I tried it I fell in love with this product. It blends my foundation so flawlessly that it doesn't even look like I have make up on. It also made my under eye concealer look amazing. I always used to be worried about looking cakey and not blending my foundation properly but now I don't anymore. I don't think I'll ever go back to using brushes to apply my liquid foundation. It's even better than using your fingers.

How to use it (in case anyone doesn't know): it's pretty simple, wet the whole sponge, squeeze it to get all the water out, apply foundation on your face or on the sponge, bounce the sponge all over your face to blend it out.

I know that people may be hesitant to buy it because of the price. If you wear foundation, bb cream or a tinted moisturizer on a daily basis I think it's completely worth it. I love it and I say yes, it's worth the hype.

Sincerely, JoJo xoxo

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

A few weeks ago I was at Sephora and decided to try the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It's specifically designed to hydrate very dry skin and it's good for sensitive skin. I thought it would be good to use on my hands and it really is. This winter has made my skin really dry, especially my hands. I get eczema on my hands only in winter because it's so dry. Most creams including prescribed ones that I've tried don't really work. This one has really helped. This product has become one of my holy grail skincare products.

Since I started using it my eczema has diminished. This cream is really soothing to my skin. It's unscented but it has a slight medicated scent but if you have really dry skin it works like a charm. It's made with shea butter, colloidal oatmeal, eucalyptus oil and ceramides. It contains no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and syntetic fragrances or dyes. It can be used all over the body and face. It retails at $15 CAD for the 2.0 oz bottle and $35 CAD for the 6 oz jar. It might be a little pricey but it's worth it. I would definitely recommend this product. I would try other products from First Aid Beauty as well.

Is is Worth the Hype? Nivea Lip Butters

The Nivea lip butters have been highly hyped up. I know they were a huge hit in the UK. They launched in Canada and the US probably 2 months ago.

I was a little skeptical to try it because I don't like the regular Nivea lip balms. My lips are very dry and most lips balms are not moisturizing enough for me. Since the lip butters had so much hype I decided to give this a try. (I also found it on sale.)

I got the vanilla & macadamia lip butter. The scent is very sweet. When applying the lip butter it feels like you're putting butter on your lips. It goes on clear and makes your lips look glossy. I honestly love this product. It claims that it leaves your lips feeling soft and moisturized. I've been using it everyday for the past month. I was surprised because this is very moisturizing. I apply it before bed and in the morning when I wake up my lips still feel soft.

This has become my new favorite lip balm. None of my other lip balms I own are as moisturizing as this. I would recommend this to anyone.
Is it worth the hype? Yes.

Sincerely, JoJo.

NOTD: Revlon Girly

Revlon Girly is a pinky lavender based glitter polish with different sizes of purple, pink and rose gold glitter.

I've layered it over Essie fiji just to make the base look more pink. I have 2 coats of Essie fiji and one coat of Revlon Girly.

I love Revlon glitter polishes because they look similar to the Deborah Lippmann glitter polishes for a fraction of the cost.
